Small change, large effect: I spent a lot of time in the OSX shell. Managing all the web projects and other stuff is much easier from shell than clicking through folders and files. The standard OSX shell commands are quite useless if you want to get more informations than usal. read more

usefull 404 sites

Not long ago I've read an article concerning the usability and accessibility of websites, not meaning a valid HTML code but a bit more information to the user.

A good example for such information is a more detailed 404 error site. Usually these sites are only telling the user that the requested website could not be found on the server, but how really cares? The user wants some information from your website, why don't you give them what they want?

the task was to design and code a small portfolio website, easy to use and nice to look at. A minimalistic design with some usefull features, a bit of ajax and an area to manage projects, images and some favorite links.

Not long ago I started to make my ideas go wild for the photo mag project. The first draft was quickly published but not the best. After getting some response to my ideas and the draft I was rethinking this first impression.

In the last few days I updated this site often than ever. Normally I've got no time to code on this project, but after finishing the jesh - project, I thought it is time to complete my own site.

Today I've updated jeshmusic.com. I've added a Wordpress plugin which sends some newsletters to registerd users. Actually this plugin isn't available for other systems, but I'll try to make it compatible for all Wordpress Versions. So if you want to know more about that plugin, just contact me.

Switching the server

Currently I'm switching the server to another root machine. A debian based LAMP server. Caused by some trouble on the other system it wasn't hard to choose another one. It will take some time to install all required servers and tools but i'll try to keep the website running.
